Once you've settled into your beautifully appointed room, take a leisurely stroll through historic downtown Waynesville. Main Street is lined with locally owned boutiques, art galleries, cozy cafés, and inviting little shops that are perfect for wandering hand in hand.

For dinner, you really can't go wrong, but a few of our favorites are Roost Chop House, The Sweet Onion, and The Scotsman. If you're here on a Saturday, walk over to Haywood's Historic Farmers Market. Browse fresh produce, locally made honey, homemade breads, flowers, and handcrafted goods while enjoying the lively atmosphere. One of our favorite drives is along the Blue Ridge Parkway to Waterrock Knob. The view from the overlook is simply breathtaking. On a clear day, you can see layer upon layer of mountain ridges stretching to the horizon, like the folds of a beloved old family quilt.

If you're feeling adventurous, visit one of the area's beautiful waterfalls or enjoy a short mountain hike together. During the fall, the surrounding mountains become a patchwork of brilliant reds, oranges, and golds.

Wildlife lovers may also want to visit Cataloochee Valley, where elk often graze in the early morning or just before sunset. It's a peaceful experience that's hard to forget.
